Yakima Regional Hospital is adding to its reputation as a destination for cardiac care. The hospital is now unveiling the first of five state-of-the-art Cath Labs that are being added to further improve care options for patients in Central Washington. “Our new Cath Labs are being designed with the best imaging that is available today for both cardiac and vascular procedures,” said Corinne Murphy-Hines, Executive Director of Cardiovascular Services at Yakima Regional. “Other tools available to our physicians include the 64-slice CT scanner and the cardiac imaging package for the Siemens 1.5T, which provide cardiologists, vascular surgeons, general surgeons – and their teams – the most detailed images available in the region,” she said.
Murphy-Hines looks forward to the first of these new Cath Labs opening in May 2011. In addition to the new Cath Lab, Yakima Regional operates the only hospital based accredited Sleep Disorder Center in Central Washington. Sleep disorders are closely connected to heart disease. Yakima Regional also offer’s the Valley’s only certified cardiac rehabilitation program, meeting strict outcome-based guidelines. Over the past decade, Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center has won numerous national awards and accreditations.
